Informative texts with activity cards that aim to teach students how to use different reading strategies to understand an informative text, identify the main ideas and respond to inference questions relating to the text.
Show full descriptionThis reproducible workbook was created to help students who present difficulties with reading comprehension. It is made up of six informative texts on different subjects. For each reproducible text, there are six available activity cards. The cards cover the various strategies and abilities of different readers.
Objectives:
-use different reading strategies to help properly understand an informative text
-reflect on a proposed subject and identify new knowledge gained by the text
-identify the main idea of a paragraph
-answer the straightforward and inference questions about the text
Contains:
-6 informative texts roughly 350 words long designed for grades 3 and 4 (themes: octopus, tornadoes, maple syrup, Egyptian pyramids, Olympic flag, shooting starts)
-1 memory aid card of reading strategies
-reproducible cards for each text
-answer key for each text
